Final PH consular mission for the year set for Oct. 19 to 22
The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, in coordination with Philippine honorary consul Glicerio Arago, will be having their fifth and last mobile mission on Saipan this year.
The mobile consular service is set next week, Oct. 19 to 22, at the Mount Carmel Social Hall.
For Oct. 19, 20, and 22, the mobile mission will be open from 9am to 6pm, while on Oct. 21, it will be from 10am to 7pm.
Unlike their past mobile missions, passport applications will be done on a first come-first served basis.
According to the consulate, they will only accept the first 256 completed ePassport applications due to technical capacity of their equipment.
Arago said copies of the application forms may be obtained from Mel Santos, who may be contacted at 233-2898.
Notarials and civil registration services will also be available as usual. To avoid delays in the processing of these applications, applicants are advised not to fold copies of their requirements.
The consulate just had their fourth mobile mission last month, after their original August schedule was cancelled due to Typhoon Soudelor.
Philippine Consul Edgar Auxilian earlier said that they will be scheduling this upcoming mobile mission prior to the closing of the registration period for overseas absentee voting on Oct. 31.
He added that they will be stopping by Rota as well, but Arago said the Guam consulate may just go straight there from Guam as it is closer than Saipan.
In September, they were able to process 448 passport applications, 160 extensions, and 243 overseas voters registrations in Saipan and Tinian.
