Young professionals volunteer with CNMI C.O.R.E
Continuing with their post-typhoon volunteer efforts, the Saipan Young Professionals teamed up with CNMI C.O.R.E. (Community Outreach Recovery Effort) last Saturday to volunteer at the CHCC Mobile Health Clinic at Chacha Oceanview Middle School in Kagman.

Members of the Saipan Young Professionals assisted in handing out items to community members including bottles of water, donated clothing, and toys for children who visited the center.
“We’re fortunate to have teamed up with an active group like C.O.R.E. Their team is composed of people who dedicate their time, effort and heart into making a difference in the lives of people all over the island,” said SYP chair Mable Ayuyu. “We’re happy to work alongside different groups that share our passion to help our community.”
Ayuyu said the mobile clinic drew a number of people who needed immediate medical assistance, which was provided free by CHCC. There were a number of women and children that sought assistance at the mobile clinic.
“The women who visited the center were grateful to have picked up water and clothing items for their children at home,” Ayuyu said.
In the months following Supertyphoon Soudelor, members of the Saipan Young Professionals Committee have dedicated their weekends to volunteering with organizations that continue to make a positive difference in the lives of many. In August, the committee volunteered each Saturday of the month at the Salvation Army’s soup kitchen, providing free hot meals to homeless families and those affected by the typhoon. Last month, SYP teamed up with Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation, organizing and distributing free clothing to those in need. Earlier this month, the committee volunteered at the Pacific Century Fellow’s 5K Run. Proceeds from the run would be used toward purchasing ancillary items to assist in the rebuilding and restoration of damaged homes throughout the island.
Ayuyu said the committee commends the various groups and organizations that have assisted in typhoon relief efforts, as C.O.R.E. has done. “We’d like to thank our Saipan Chamber of Commerce members and other members of our community who have donated and who continue to donate towards typhoon relief efforts.”
The committee also thanks C.O.R.E. members Glen Hunter, Mami Ikeda, and all the C.OR.E. volunteers who continue to lead by example.
