A woman facing a charge in federal court for enticing her then-15-year-old cousin to engage in sex for cash with a government official in 2013 was found using methamphetamine or “ice” last week.

U.S. Probation Officer Specialist Margarita DLG. Wonenberg informed the U.S. District Court for the NMI about Alexandra Castro Macabalo’s alleged use of “ice” and other violations of her bail conditions.

According to Wonenberg, Macabalo was subjected to a urinalysis test and came up presumptive positive for “ice” use.

When confronted with the results, Macabalo admitted that she used “ice” last Sept. 20, Wonenberg said.

The probation officer said Macabalo also failed to report for urinalysis last Sept. 3 and for a noncompliance meeting last Sept. 4.

The defendant also failed to report for group counseling last Sept. 4 and for a noncompliance meeting last Sept. 7. She again failed to show up for family counseling last Sept. 21.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Macabalo last April after a complaint was filed in court, charging her with enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution and other sexual activity.

An indictment was later subsequently filed, charging her with one count of enticement of a minor.

Macabalo was released on her own recognizance with some conditions.
