High surf advisory until Saturday

Share

Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center, monsoon winds well southeast of Tropical Storm Dujuan will generate swell large enough to produce high surf for the next day or two.

A high surf advisory is now in effect until 6am Saturday. Expect hazardous surf of 7 to 10 feet along west facing reefs. Surf will continue through Friday before slowly subsiding Friday night.

The general public is being advised to avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those facing west as rip currents will be life threatening. (HSEM)
