ST. LOUIS—Anheuser-Busch, in conjunction with its local distributors, Ambros Inc. and Marpac Distributors, are providing 4,312 cases of emergency drinking water—or 103,488 cans—to aid Saipan residents affected by Typhoon Soudelor.

Anheuser-Busch, along with Ambros Inc. and Marpac Distributors, are working with the American Red Cross NMI Chapter to get the water where it’s needed once the water arrives from the West Coast.

Shipping partner Matson is helping bring in the two 40-foot containers from the LA Brewery to Saipan as part of their community service program.

“Relief workers and people on the island are in need of safe, clean drinking water, and Anheuser-Busch is in a unique position to produce and ship large quantities of emergency drinking water,” said Peter Kraemer, vice president of Supply for Anheuser-Busch. “Our local distributors help identify those communities most in need, and work with relief organizations such as the American Red Cross to make sure the water gets where it’s needed.”

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 73 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters. Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the American Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the American Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
