Guam Ayuda Foundation sends relief goods for PSS
The Pacific Century Fellows Class of 2015 received a 20-foot container filled with items for the Public School System from Guam’s Ayuda Foundation yesterday morning.
Ed Arriola Jr., member of PCF Class of 2015, said the container includes boxes of water for PSS and other emergency equipment and necessities for relief efforts on Saipan.
Arriola said the container was packed by the Ayuda Foundation Guam.
“The Department of Education in Guam [also] donated pallets of school supplies to PSS, TakeCare Guam donated supplies for TakeCare Saipan, and Bank Pacific had some items as well for Bank Pacific Saipan,” Arriola said.
He noted that the 20-foot container actually arrived last week but had to go through Customs first.
Matson and Seabridge donated the container and shipping cost, while CTSI Logistics shared the shipping cost and shouldered the cost for ground handling.
Arriola said a separate a 40-foot container would be arriving in at least 10 to 12 days, also from the Ayuda Foundation Guam.
“This container will have more school supplies for PSS. There are also food items, water, and other emergency equipment that is necessary,” he said. “None of this would’ve happened without the Ayuda Foundation and other donors that helped with the relief efforts for Saipan.”
The PCF Class of 2015 will take care of distributing the rest of the relief supplies to the community.
