Gibo arrested anew, this time for punching a doctor and CHC staff
Patrick Tudela Gibo, a 36-year-old man believed to be mentally ill, was arrested again, this time for allegedly punching a mid-level provider and a physician at the Commonwealth Health Center on Friday night.
Gibo was arrested for assault and battery and disturbing the peace.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed yesterday a $2,250 cash bail but stayed the proceedings pending a mental evaluation of Gibo in a previous criminal case.
A police report states that Gibo punched mid-level provider Lorie Hutchison on the left chin and Dr. Todd A. Tritch on the right jaw at CHC’s emergency room.
Police said two officers responded to CHC’s emergency room after receiving a call about a disturbance on Friday at 7:39pm. Upon getting there, they saw two Corrections officers and a hospital security guard standing next to Gibo, who was in handcuffs and lying on a bed.
Police learned that Gibo went to the emergency room at 7:15pm and asked to be admitted to the psychiatric ward because he was hearing voices.
Gibo got angry when told to wait in one of the beds on the hallway. He repeatedly went to the nurse’s station and demanded to be admitted to the psychiatric ward.
Hutchison told Gibo to wait on the bed and calm down so she can make phone calls regarding his situation. That’s when Gibo punched Hutchison on the left jaw.
Tritch stepped between Gibo and Hutchison and got punched in the right jaw. The doctor grabbed Gibo and held him down to the floor. A Corrections officer who happened to be at CHC came and handcuffed Gibo.
In November 2014, retired police sergeant Sylvan Rangamar subdued Gibo for allegedly barging into a Bible study at Grace Christian Ministries in Kagman III and attacking a person.
Last January, Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman ordered Gibo’s temporary release as the person qualified to perform his psychiatric evaluation could not be found.
