The inaugural league is eyeing an Oct. 3 opening and will have three divisions: 18-and-under, 19-and-above, and 40-and-above. League coordinator Boy Garcia said they are hoping to have eight teams in each division and so far several squads have already signified their intention to join the inaugural competition. In the 18-and-under category, four teams have committed to play, while five each have shown interest in the 19-and-above and 40-and-above divisions.
Games will be played every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with the schedule matches per division to be determined later depending on the number of teams that will sign up for the league. A series of meetings will be scheduled before the target opening day to brief participating teams on developments in the league.

Suspended games resume
Meanwhile, in other basketball updates, the two suspended matches in the 2015 Blue Haus/IT&E Inter-Color Basketball League will be played this weekend at the Navy Hill court.
League coordinator Elmer Esdrelon said the Oh My J-Purple Rain duel and Red Rice-Hard Kulangot tiff will resume either this Saturday or Sunday after the two regular matches scheduled this weekend.
Oh My J was enjoying a 34-17 halftime spread against Purple Rain when their Sept. 5 match was halted due to lack of light at the court. The Red Rice-Hard Kulangot suffered the same fate in their Sept. 6 showdown with the latter holding on to a 25-24 lead at the 16:50 mark of the second half.
Before the continuation of the two matches, Pasion De Amor and Wag Kang Pabebe will play first today at 5:30pm. Pasion De Amor will try to regroup after a sorry loss to Hard Kulangot in overtime, 81-85. All three teams along with Oh My J are tied for second place in the team standings with their similar 2-1 records, one win behind the leading Makalaro Lang (3-1).
Kidlat (1-2) and Purple Rain (1-1), which are at the bottom half of the team standings, will collide this Saturday at 5:30pm. After the Purple Rain-Kidlat match and if the court is still playable, either one of two suspended matches (depending on the availability of the teams) will be played next, while the other one will take place this Sunday before the league starts the final half of its round-robin elimination games.
