Tickets for Las Vegas Night now being sold
Club aims to raise funds for school supplies donation
The Rotary Club of Saipan has started selling tickets for their signature fundraising event, Las Vegas Night.
The event will be held on Halloween night at Saipan World Resort.
“This particular fundraiser goes to assist in community service projects,” Rotary club president Curtis Dancoe said.
He said these projects will include their Typhoon Soudelor relief and recovery funds.
One project that Rotary Club has already lined up is to purchase school supplies such as composition notebooks, pens, pencils as well as hand sanitizers for the students of the Public School System.
Dancoe said they are targeting to accommodate over 10,000 students and should be able to do so by November.
“To get materials enough for all the students, we do need to reach out to wholesalers and stuff. Once we get the funds in for that, we’re going to be seeking that,” Dancoe said.
Even though classes will start soon for various schools, Dancoe said supplies can be used all year long. Las Vegas Night tickets cost $5 apiece, and a book of five tickets costs $20.
The Rotary Club of Saipan also received donations from the other Rotary Clubs: Tokyo-Hachioji, Pago-Pago and Stafford-Virginia worth $5,200 to be used in their back-to-school project.
