USP4GG gives out relief items to residents
Members of the U.S. Pinoys for Good Governance-Marianas chapter distributed relief items to Saipan residents last Saturday.
Bags containing fresh fruits, vegetables, snacks, rice, cooking oil, and canned goods were distributed.
According to USP4GG-Marianas Chapter chair Dr. Celia Lamkin, the items were worth over $1,000.
Some residents lined up as early as 2am at the distribution site in front of the Liberty Store in Garapan.
USP4GG was able to serve 156 residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
“It is a moral thing to do to help and provide assistance and support to those who are in need and more especially during the time of disaster. Many have lost jobs and homes because of the typhoon. We are all brothers and sisters regardless of our religion, nationality, ethnicity and citizenship. We just have to help one another and help rebuild our community,” Lamkin said.
Lamkin thanked those who helped their cause especially their members in Guam as well as their supporters Dr. Clarita Robles of Saipan and Roy Adonay for Guam.
“Let us continue to pray for the full and speedy recovery of Saipan,” Lamkin added.
