“It is very touching that they thought of us and we’re very thankful and we’ll use it for those in need,” Ogumoro said.

“It’s been already a month and a lot of people still don’t have power and water,” said Western Sales Trading Co. sales manager Naoki Oura.

“A lot of people have been affected by Typhoon Soudelor and they need a lot of help. That’s why we decided to donate to Karidat so that they can help people [on] Saipan,” WSTCO sales supervisor Joey Ejercito said.

Ogumoro said these donations keep them going and give them the ability to restock as they give out everything that they have to those in need.

“This is just fantastic. This adds to our ability to purchase more food and water. We’ve been going out house-to-house and a lot of people are asking for water and food,” Ogumoro said.

She said they continue to go out to villages such as San Roque and Tanapag but they are also working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Red Cross NMI Chapter to go directly to homes to assess and not only to give relief.
