Intoxicated man allegedly punches wife
An intoxicated man allegedly punched the face of his wife twice in front of their two children and threatened to kill her while they were inside a car in Papago last Sunday night.
The victim told police that she was so scared of Derek Sablan Palacios that she tried to jump out of the car.
Palacios was taken to Superior Court yesterday for a bail hearing on charges of assault and battery-domestic violence, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $2,000 cash.
Assistant attorney general Barbara Cepeda appeared for the government. Assistant public defender Mathew Meyer served as counsel for the defendant.
Police detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that the Department of Public Safety received a call on Sunday night about a domestic violence incident near Botanical Garden
Responding police officer Raymond Pangelinan was traveling along Isa Drive near Tangantangan Drive in Papago when several bystanders flagged him down at 7:26pm.
The bystanders directed him to the victim, who was with her two children. Another bystander also pointed in the direction of the bus stop, where Palacios was sitting.
The victim told police that Palacios had been drinking since that morning and punched her twice on the head inside their vehicle.
Palacios was then arrested.
