A third man, Derrick Kaipat Rangamar, 26, was arrested but later released after he was issued a traffic citation for having no driver’s license.
Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Jason Tarkong said yesterday that Commonwealth Bureau of Investigation commander Jeffrey F. Olopai and two other detectives responded to the parking lot of Friendly Market in San Jose after 911 dispatch received an anonymous tip about an alleged ongoing drug transaction on Monday at 4:15pm.
Tarkong said the detectives investigated Tydinco, Pua, and Rangamar who were in two separate cars.
Tarkong said during the investigation, one detective saw plastic baggies with a crystal-like substance in plain view inside the black 2014 three-door Hyundai Velostar.
With the suspects’ consent, the detectives searched the car and confirmed that the baggies contained crystal-like substances, Tarkong said.
Another police officer arrived at the scene and tested the substance, which was presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
Tarkong said investigation showed that Pua and Rangamar arrived aboard a black Toyota Corolla car in the parking lot to meet Tydingco, who was in the Hyundai Velostar.
Pua got on the passenger side of the Hyundai Velostar. While Pua and Tydingco were in the Velostar, the detectives arrived and questioned the three.
