“To say that Typhoon Soudelor devastated our businesses, homes, and beautiful island would be an understatement,” said foundation president Frances T. Demapan. “But this is not the end. We have to keep our spirits up, we have to keep fighting. The Joeten Daidai Foundation is committed to assisting the people of the CNMI—in whatever capacity—to rebuild and restore our island to a newer, better state.”

The Joeten Daidai Foundation was established in 1994 as a vision of the late Jose “Joeten” C. Tenorio and his wife Soledad “Daidai” T. Tenorio to promote the advancement of education, religion, health, wellness, and other efforts related to the social welfare and benefit of the community. In recent years, the Joeten Daidai Foundation has made in-kind and monetary donations to assist thevictims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and victims of Typhoon Maysak in Chuuk and Yap.

The foundation is deeply grateful to numerous Joeten affiliates and friends, especially Saipan Shipping Co., Saipan Stevedore Co., Pacifica Insurance, Tokio Marine Pacific Insurance, Nissan Motor Corp. in Guam, Masui Shoji Co, Ltd., and many others for the continued support of the foundation’s mission.
