The items include 2,000 T-shirts, 1,000 towels, and 1,000 blankets, which will be turned over to the American Red Cross for distribution.

“Although it is belated, E Land Group is writing this to extend our prayers and convey our sympathy and profound condolences to the families of the victims of Typhon Soudelor, which swept away many districts of the CNMI. It is with great sadness that we learned about the destruction caused by the typhoon,” a statement read by Matthew Park, E Land’s general manager, said.

“During the difficult times we are facing, we recognize the need to work together and to assist one another to make things easier for the community, which suffered greatly as a result of Typhoon Soudelor,” Park said.

Park said the E Land Group is also “committed to helping and participating in getting the CNMI and its people return to normalcy at the earliest.”

“We sincerely hope the hard times the people are experiencing will not be long and, again, as a member of the community, we will continue to stand side by side with you,” the statement said.

Gov. Eloy S. Inos, in acknowledging the donation, said, “Help is never too late.”

Inos also said government will provide E Land Group with a report on the distribution of the relief items.

House Speaker Joseph P. Deleon Guerrero (Ind-Saipan) also thanked E Land for its community efforts, such as bringing water to Precinct 1 residents.

E Land Group operates Coral Ocean Point, a hotel and resort located within the Koblerville area, which is part of Precinct 1.
