The Offices of Homeland Security and Civil Defense, in coordination with the National Weather Service, is closely monitoring thunderstorms in a large area over Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Majuro.

Computer models indicate slow development of the circulation near Pohnpei as it heads toward the northwest. The circulation near Majuro could also develop in the coming days as it lifts toward the north-northwest.

There are no watches or warnings in effect for Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands at this time.

This monsoon trough with this system of thunderstorms is no threat to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands at this time.

OHS, OCD, and the CNMI Emergency Operations Center in conjunction with NWS will continue to monitor all conditions in our area closely and provide updates. As advised by NWS, this is still a developing situation.
