Govt extends deadline for healthcare analysis RFP

The Office of the Governor, through its Capital Improvement Program Office, has extended the deadline for the request for proposal for the healthcare system analysis to be conducted on the Commonwealth Health Center.
The original submission date of June 1 has been moved to June 4. “All other elements of the RFP remain as originally provided,” stated a paid advertisement that appeared in yesterday’s Saipan Tribune.
RFP12-GOV-077, which was first published last month, seeks to solicit services from qualified firms to provide a review of the current healthcare system of the CNMI in comparison to “identified” standards and developing a plan to correct any uncovered deficiencies.
Press secretary Angel Demapan and governor’s legal counsel James Stump separately confirmed the deadline extension yesterday.
“The sole purpose of the extension for [the] date of submission is to accommodate the austerity Friday,” Stump said via email. “This will not have any effect whatsoever on the process.”
Stump refused to comment further on the submissions, saying that it would be “inappropriate” to do so since the procurement process is still ongoing.
With the deadline extension, Demapan said the Division of Procurement & Supply can receive sealed and marked copies of the proposals until 4:30pm on June 4.
Critical element to be addressed in the analysis is “the balancing of services and associated revenues.” The firm with the proposal “most advantageous” to the CNMI government will be awarded the contract.
Demapan said the composition of the committee that will review submitted proposals “is being finalized.”
