Bank of Guam comes to aid of typhoon victims
‘Soudelor Aid’ account set up to accept financial donations
Bank of Guam has established an account for contributions to help the Saipan and Tinian communities that have been devastated by Typhoon Soudelor.
The bank’s Tinian branch resumed normal operating hours yesterday, while the Garapan Branch will be operating with limited hours between 10am and 3pm.
“We are saddened to learn of the devastation to our family and friends in Saipan and Tinian, and send our support for a speedy recovery,” said Lou A. Leon Guerrero, Bank of Guam president, chief executive officer and board chair. “In addition to establishing an account to accept financial contributions to send to the islands, we are providing direct assistance to all of our Bank of Guam employees in those branches.”
Contributions may be made at all Bank of Guam branches, with the notation that the funds should go to the “Soudelor Aid” account.
Additionally, Bank of Guam is offering a 90-day loan payment deferment to affected individuals whose loans are in good standing.
Bank of Guam, with assets over $1.4billion, is in its 43rd year with 23 branches throughout Guam and western Micronesia. Bank of Guam has had a presence in Saipan since 1980 and its Tinian branch was opened in 1984. (BoG)
