Green energy firm to turn on 1st solar energy system under its new program
Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc.-CNMI will be flipping the switch and turn on the first CNMI home under its “Solar as a Service” zero money down program this Friday, July 31, at 12pm, at the home of Christopher Leon Guerrero in As Matuis, Saipan.
At that time, MRE, Inc.-CNMI officials will explain the “Solar as a Service” program and its affordability to all CNMI residents.
“Solar as a Service” is the CNMI’s first zero money down solar energy service program. Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc.-CNMI and its partner, Sunnova Energy Corp., launched the residential solar program for all CNMI homeowners in April 2015. Homeowners can save money by using a cleaner, more affordable alternative to their monthly power bill. With “Solar as a Service,” the customer simply pays for solar power by the month, just like the normal power bill but at a lower amount, putting customer’s hard-earned money back in their pockets.
Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc.-CNMI will install the system for free and provide maintenance and insurance for the life of the agreement. MRE and Sunnova will remotely monitor the system to ensure peak performance and should problems arise, MRE will dispatch a crew to get the system back online immediately.
