BSI makes over $43K donations to NMI community

Maintaining a commitment to community and service, Best Sunshine International Ltd. has established a corporate social responsibility office with the goal of making meaningful and impactful contributions to the CNMI community.

To date, the office has made $43,234 in contributions to education, sports, government organizations, and 13 nonprofit organizations. Some of the beneficiaries of funding for educational programs included Marianas High School, Admiral Hopwood Jr. High School, and the Junior Statesmen of America who received funds for student performances, competitions, cultural clubs, and helping to sponsor government and policy summer programs held at Ivy League universities.

In addition to programs for education, Best Sunshine has also made donations to programs for youth development, including the CNMI Little League Baseball Association, the CNMI Rollers Basketball Association, and the Northern Marianas Sports Foundation to cover costs for prizes, program booklets, volunteer shirts, uniforms and to sponsor the 2015 Basketball Invitational Tournament.

Best Sunshine has also made donations to the Saipan Unity Lions Club who provides services to the youth of the CNMI. Saipan Unity Lions Club programs include a youth diabetic awareness program and providing activities for out-of-school programs.

In addition to providing funding for youth programs, Best Sunshine has also made it a goal to aid local institutions that impact the CNMI community. Such institutions include the San Antonio Parish, which received funds for the renovation of their Sanctuary; the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa to help with the provision for the education and formation of seminarians and clergy; and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Fiesta Community, which received help to sponsor their annual religious fiesta.

Best Sunshine has also contributed to the United Filipino Organization to help celebrate the 117th Philippine Independence Day.

This summer, Best Sunshine also made donations of sponsorship to local corporate associations like HANMI and to the Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort Inc. Furthermore, in-kind donations were made to assist the people of Rota after the effects of Typhoon Dolphin and to the Tinian municipal treasurer to develop their summer wellness program.
