“Insight People” is on Saipan on a FAM tour of the Northern Marianas, which will be featured in a July episode of the show. The interview with Tenorio by anchorwoman Georgina Fang will help bolster awareness of the NMI in Taiwan, where the MVA has operated a representative office since 2013.

“Media FAM tours are a regular occurrence that the MVA assists with to help promote Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, but ‘Insight People’ also wanted to take the pulse of the tourism industry with an interview, which we were happy to accommodate,” said Tenorio. “As our tourism promotion work in Taiwan continues to build awareness of the market, at this time visitors from Taiwan transit to the NMI through China, primarily. Our long-term goal is to eventually see the development of direct flights, and we continue to lay the groundwork in Taiwan for that.”

“People” airs to an estimated 6.6 million viewers across Taiwan each week.

While on Saipan and Tinian, “Insight People” shadowed Elaine Lai, a high school tourism teacher and MVA’s “Intern to the Marianas” contest winner. Sites visited on Saipan included the Northern Marianas Museum of History and Culture, Sea Touch marine animal encounter, snorkeling at the Grotto, boat cruise on Stars & Stripes, Star Marianas airplane tour, Mt. Carmel Cathedral, golfing at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, and visits to Island Infusions and scenic sites. On Tinian, the television station toured House of Taga, Chulu Beach, the Blow Hole, and World War II historic sites and filmed fishing and snorkeling. (MVA)
