A $1,000 donation was given by Dr. Ignacio T. Dela Cruz, D.V.M., his wife Mrs. Victoria F. Dela Cruz, and their family to SSAC at the Office on Aging in Chinatown yesterday.
“Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. The man’amko will be so happy,” SSAC president Maria T. Salinas said.
According Aging director Walter Manglona, the fund is not only for the council itself. He said it will be used to support special programs or projects that the man’amko will be doing in the future.
It can also be used to purchase things the clients need at the center.
Manglona added that he is thankful for the donation. He said they don’t really go out and solicit for money, so those who give to the man’amko do so with good will and generosity.
“We are truly grateful for the donation and we appreciate the kind generosity from Dr. Dela Cruz and his family,” Manglona said.
Others who were present at the donation were OoA’s Adela Capati, Margaret Aldan, Maria Wanket, Orlando Limes, and Rudy Sablan.
The Ignacio family also donated $1,000 to the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library this month.
