Police find no foul play behind death of man at hotel terrace
Police did not find foul play behind the death of a 29-year-old Chinese man who was recently found dead on the terrace of the second floor of the 18-story Grandvrio Resort on Saipan.
The Garapan hotel was formerly called Hafadai Beach Hotel.
Department of Public Safety Commissioner James C. Deleon Guerrero told Saipan Tribune that the victim’s death has been ruled a suicide.
Deleon Guerrero did not elaborate because it’s a suicide.
DPS acting spokesman Jason Tarkong also confirmed it’s a suicide, but he too did not release other details.
On June 12 at 6:26am, police responded to Grandvrio Resort after receiving report about a possible dead person.
Upon arrival, police met with witnesses and hotel’s staff who came across the victim, who was found on the terrace area of the second floor.
The victim had no pulse and not breathing when police came.
Tarkong earlier said police learned the victim’s name, but his name will not be released pending notification of the next of kin.
The victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Jeremy Seelinger at 8:43am.
