The school has recently achieved a 40th percentile ranking nationwide, according to STAR data in reading and math. Which as per the Renaissance manual, “We use the 40th percentile as the default benchmark, because research experts, along with many states consider it a mean “working at grade level” or “proficient.”

The school said as a turnaround school it has met or surpassed many of the goals it set several years ago. In addition, KagES also implemented the second step curriculum school-wide, which is a pro-social curriculum, that contributed to an all-time low (along with teacher professionalism and the PSS progressive discipline plan [4 R’s]) in office referrals for the last six years.

Out of close to 400 students, KagES had a maximum of 32 students (8 percent) referred to the office for the School Year 2014-2015. Research has proven a direct correlation to student learning and minimal disruption caused by office referrals and has proven true at our school.

“So thank you parents, staff, and students in contributing to a successful school year. Go Marlins!” said a statement from KagES. (PR)
