Division champs advance in Bud Light Cup semis

Division champions Jonny’s Kyodai and Jokers Latte Sparts escaped with similar tough wins over their respective opponents to advance to the Bud Light Cup semifinals of the Saipan Electronic Darts Association.

All Bud Light Cup matches are knockout, race-to-eight games. The semis winners will move on to the one-game finals next week, June 18.

The Kyodai, the Thursday Flame Tree B division champions, eked out an 8-7 decision over the Naked Fish Oneshot to earn the right of facing the Naked Fish Ridin’ Darrty, an 8-4 winner over sister team Na’Gupu.

The Abyss Serial Killaz trounced the Jokers Snipers, 8-2, while the Sand Juvy No Fear nipped the Jonny’s Real Deal, 8-7. The Killaz and No Fear form the other half of the semis pairing.

Thursday Fanihi B division champion Latte Sparts edged Sands Alamo Car Rental, 8-5, and will take on the Route 33 Mixblood Shooters, an 8-5 conqueror of the Sand Juvy 80 Proofers, in the semis.

The Jokers Preba Darts tripped Oleai Team Fearless, 8-5, and will challenge the Sand Juvy Sunrisers, who scored an 8-5 decision over the VFW Warriors, for a finals berth.

Bud Light Cup matchups in the Masters, Tuesday B, and Chichirika and Kingfisher C divisions began last Tuesday and Wednesday.

Results of the opening matches were not yet available at press time.

The Sand Juvy TDI Summit (Masters) and sister team Pasaways (Tuesday B), the Jokers Darty Flight (Chichirika C) and Spartans (Kingfisher C) are the division winners.

Set to play in the semifinals are the Sand Juvy Pythons and Jokers Scratch ‘N’ Sniff (Masters), Smoke Pub Dartaholics and Sand Juvy Dabarkads (Tuesday B), Smoke Pub Bull It and the Blue Koi’s (Chichirika C), and the Jokers Chagi Fan and the Smoke Pub High Flyers (Kingfisher C).
