The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library was recently presented with a cash donation from the family of Dr. Ignacio T. Dela Cruz, D.V.M.

According to acting library director Erlinda Cabrera Naputi, the $1,000 donation came from Dela Cruz, his wife Victoria F. Dela Cruz, and their children.

“On behalf of the staff and management of JKPL, we would like to thank Dr. Dela Cruz and his family for their humble gesture and kind contribution,” Naputi said. “The Joeten Kiyu Public Library acknowledges the great importance of private gifts and donations to the library’s future development and growth.”

According to Naputi, the donation will be used for the enrichment of the library’s programs as well as to procure new books and other library needs.

Prior to the cash donation, the Dela Cruz family also provided help in repairing the library’s water pump.

“We would also like to thank Dr. Dela Cruz for providing the manpower needed to help repair JKPL’s water pump and making sure that our restrooms are open and ready for our patrons to use,” Naputi said.

Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is eligible to receive cash contributions under the educational tax credit program.

“We welcome monetary contribution to enhance library services through the delivery of additional materials, equipment and services, as well as other types of gifts such as books,” Naputi said.
