‘Run for Nepal’ tomorrow
The Nepalese Community of Saipan, in partnership with the Saipan Young Professionals Committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, will be holding a “run for a cause” fundraising event tomorrow.
“Run For Nepal” is a 5K run from the Garapan Public Market (Garapan Fishing Base across Kristo Rai Church) to the former Hakubotan building in San Jose and back. A $10 registration fee is required to join the event.
Community members, students, and families are encouraged to join as the funds from the event will go directly to the survivors of the recent Nepal earthquake, through the Nepalese community of Saipan.
“This is a very worthy cause that we are proud to stand behind,” says SYP chair Mable Ayuyu and co-chair Bobby Cruz.
Prior to the run, a moment of silence will be observed to honor those who perished and who are still suffering because of the devastating earthquakes in Nepal.
Registration forms are available at Java Joe’s in Dandan. Participants can also register tomorrow at the venue starting at 5:30am.
Prizes will be given away to the Top 3 finishers.
Those who would like to participate, volunteer, or donate to this cause may contact Mahesh Thapa, president for the Nepalese Community of Saipan at thapamahesh2002@yahoo.com, Raj Kumar Rai at rajraijuly3@gmail.com or Mable Ayuyu at natalieayuyu@gmail.com.
