Northern Mariana Islands Football Association will be holding the 2015 NMIFA 3v3 Grassroots Football Day Tournament this Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

The one-day event was originally slated for May 16, but was postponed due to Tropical Storm Dolphin. The 3v3 competition was also supposed to be held in celebration of the AFC Grassroots Football Day.

Sixteen teams will be participating in the rescheduled event with squads from U8, U10, and U12 age groups battling for their respective division crowns. The U8 division has three teams in Kanoa Football Club, Paire FC, and Tinian Premier FC. In the U10 division, Tinian will be fielding two squads to challenge teams from Paire FC, Shirley’s FC, and Kanoa FC. Kanoa has also entered one team in U12 Division B and two in Division A, while Paire and Tinian have one each in the two groups, and Shirley’s is fielding one in Division B.

The 2015 NMIFA 3v3 Grassroots Football Day Tournament will cap the spring season of NMIFA, which earlier concluded its youth league last month. Matansa Football Club ruled the girls U15 spring league, while MP United prevailed in the co-ed U12, and Tan Holdings topped both the boys U15 and U18 age groups.
