Four of the Top 5 finishers in the Golden Boot race for the boys U18 age group came from division champion Tan Holdings Football Club.

Sean Perez led the contest with his 18 goals. He scored in Tan Holdings’ first seven games, recording his most goals (4) in their 14-1 rout of Paire Football Club last March 21 and another blowout, 9-1, against the same team last April 11. The Tan Holdings forward earlier tallied three goals in their 5-1 victory over Paire in the first round and three more in their 5-0 win over Matansa last March 28. Perez’s two other goals were recorded in their 2-1 triumph over MP United last Feb. 21 and 10-0 demolition versus Matansa last April 18.

Joining Perez in the Top 5 are teammates Se Young Kim, Joel Fruit, and Yoshi Mafnas, and Matansa’s Ryu Tanzawa. Kim collected eight goals in the three-round robin contest, getting four in their third round match against Matansa, three versus Paire in the second round, and one more against Paire in the last. Fruit scored one goal off a penalty kick in Tan Holdings’ 2-1 title win over MP United last Sunday, bringing his total in the spring season to seven. The lanky Tan Holdings player notched one goal apiece in five games, including last weekend’s rubber match against MP United and bagged two in their 14-1 trashing of Paire in March.

Mafnas and Tanzawa finished with five goals each with the former making it to the board in Tan Holdings’ first five games and the latter scoring one goal each in three of Matansa’s first four matches and adding two in their 7-0 win over Paire last month.

Meanwhile, 16 other players logged at least two goals apiece in the spring season, while Tan Holdings recorded the most in three rounds with its 50.
