Nine parents, 12 children finish literacy programs

Beginning April 18, 2015, and culminating on May 20, 2015, Rota’s very own Songsong Head Start Center celebrated its much anticipated CNMI Motheread/Fatheread spring completion ceremony.

The monthlong dynamic pro-literacy session graduated four committed parents: Donna Elena M. Ogo, Laralyn Castro Atalig, Lynette G. Cabrera, and Jackie G. Manglona in the Adult Course under the tutelage of Certified Motheread/Fatheread parent trainer Mary Lynn C. Ogo.

Meanwhile, Shane Manglona, Landon Avery Toves, Leon’j A. Castro, and J’Ana Edat O. Hocog completed the children’s story exploring class under Story Exploring instructor Quindy Maratita.

This spring, Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center held its first ever CNMI Motheread/Fatheread session. On May 11, 2015, team Motheread/Fatheread proudly celebrated their completion ceremony for five parents in the Adult Course: Neha Devjani, Emily V. Bamba, Nhing B. Reyes, Jolene Dlg. Doronila, and Jhoanna I. Fernando. The course was facilitated by parent trainer Lilia King.

Also, Story Exploring instructor Ignacia Reyes, together with volunteer Joycie Estabillo, successfully graduated eight children: Krish Devjani, Krisha Devjani, Kevin Doronila, Kyle Doronila, Haani King, Antwone Acollator, Sarah Angla Melchor, and Remiegem Melchor.

The CNMI Motheread/Fatheread program is administered by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council.
