GMS promotes 58 students to their next grade levels
Before an audience of students, parents, family members, friends, and guests gathered in a room at Pacific Islands Club Saipan that served as the venue of Green Meadow School’s 2015 Commencement Exercises on May 17, 2015, school president and principal Milagros M. Songcuan officially confirmed the promotion of 58 graduating Kindergarten and elementary students to the next grade levels.

The graduates and the whole audience were treated to inspirational remarks delivered by the graduation’s guest speaker, Rep. Vinson “Vinnie” F. Sablan of Precinct 4, who eloquently spoke on the theme “Effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction”—a quote from U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
In a specially heartwarming segment of his speech, Sablan expressed deep personal connection and appreciation for GMS as the buildings and grounds that used to be their residence for so many years are now being used to educate and care for children. In the later part of the program, Sablan assisted the school president and GMS board chair Ador Songcuan in distributing diplomas, awards, medals, and plaques to graduating students.
The recognition programs for GMS non-graduating students were conducted hours before the graduation ceremonies in the same venue where Eli Arago, senior vice president and chief finance officer of Tan Holdings Corp., was the guest speaker. Arago’s speech expounded on Robert Louis Stevenson’s quote, “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
School year 2014-2015 top honors went to the following highly deserving graduates:
Kinder 5 – Chalan Kiya: Jaeden Miquel R. Ablog (Valedictorian) and Vimarie Alna A. Alfeche (Salutatorian)
Kinder 5 – Gualo Rai: Josephine L. Lopez (Valedictorian) and Paula Angela Bernardo (Salutatorian)
Elementary: Mike Mame N. Mendoza (Valedictorian) and Xavier P. Gatmaitan (Salutatorian)
The Green Meadow School administration, faculty and staff congratulate the 2015 graduates and their parents for job well done. Congratulations and God bless, Falcons!” (GMS)
