NMC to graduate largest class ever
Future businessmen, nurses, scientists, and teachers will be graduating as part of the Northern Marianas College’s largest graduating class ever.
Tomorrow, the college will confer about 167 associate and bachelor degrees.
According to the college, this is the highest number of degrees awarded in the college’s history in any one year.
“We are extremely proud of our graduates,” said NMC president Dr. Sharon Hart in a statement. “They have worked incredibly hard to earn their degrees, and we join their families and friends in expressing tremendous pride for this important achievement.”
During the graduation ceremony, the college will be handing out academic achievement awards and student leadership awards.
Keynote speaker for the event is Shirley Sablan, executive vice president and general manager of Pacific Insurance Underwriters. Sablan was also named as the 2014 First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year.
In a joint statement, Gov. Eloy S. Inos and Lt. Gov. Ralph Torres congratulated the NMC graduates.
“Today, you have reached another milestone toward realizing your lifelong dreams, goals, and ambitions. Moreover, you have become living testimonies to the virtues of commitment, determination, and perseverance in shaping your education and your future,” Inos and Torres said.
The college invites the community attend this special day. The graduation ceremony will start at 4:30pm on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the MHS Gymnasium.
