Miss Marianas 2015 contestants visit the man’amko
Days before their big night, Miss Marianas 2015 candidates took the time to visit and have fun with the man’amko at the Aging Center in Chinatown.
Miss Marianas 2015 contestants Jian Joyner, Dana Manglona, Riana McCale, Daysia San Nicolas, Joanna Navarro, and Irene Torres spent the morning dancing and even staging a fashion show for the elderly.

The man’amko also had a chance to show off their dancing moves.
“They [candidates] had a lot of fun, they learned from the man’amko and the [man’amko’s] talent and performance definitely inspired the girls,” Stellar Marianas president Laila Boyer said.
This was the first time for Miss Marianas candidates to visit the elderly at the center. After the short program, they gave away gift packages of Dove and other Unilever products.
“This is great, especially because I use these products as well,” said Aging Center client Virgie Mallari.
“We would like to send a big thank you to Dickerson & Quinn International and Dove for giving us this opportunity to share the products,” Boyer said.
For D&Q, it was not just about sharing their products but also to give the Miss Marianas contestants a novel experience.
“This is the first time for D&Q to sponsor an event like this for Dove and to promote awareness for everybody and the man’amko and what they do here,” said Jaki Fujihira, sales and marketing support for D&Q.
“The beauty of the man’amko is that they have knowledge to share and we wanted to have the Miss Marianas come over and witness that. Because they’re very young and it’s best that they come over and interact with the man’amko,” she added.
The Saipan Senior Advisory Council was also pleased by the girls’ visit.
“On behalf of the man’amko and the SSAC, we would like to say si yu’us ma’ase [thank you] that you shared your talent and your beauty and your love for us,” said SSAC vice president Teresita Sorroza.
“Thank you very much for visiting us. I hope you enjoyed your short time over here,” added SSAC president Maria Salinas.
