Suspected methamphetamine trafficker Joshua Sablan Diaz surrendered to police yesterday.

Acting Department of Public Safety spokesman Jason Tarkong said the 30-year-old Diaz was booked and detained at the Department of Corrections on charges of trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

DPS sought the public’s assistance last week in finding Diaz after several attempts to serve him with an arrest warrant failed.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $100,000 cash bail.

Tarkong said Diaz’s father contacted him at 9am yesterday, requesting for assistance in coordinating the suspect’s surrender to authorities.

Tarkong said he coordinated the surrender with Commonwealth Bureau of Investigation commander Jeffrey Olopai, deputy commander Jesse Seman, and the DPS narcotics unit.

He said Diaz surrendered to police detectives Peter Camacho and Jeffrey Norita at the CBI office in Susupe.
