Roybert’s artwork, titled, “All in One Guam,” was selected as the top entry by a panel of local artists. His art piece will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol Complex. He will also attend a reception on June 24, 2015, at the Capitol Visitor Center Auditorium and Atrium in Washington, D.C., courtesy of United Airlines.

The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide high school art competition sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. This year’s competition was open to all Guam high schools and featured 30 entries by students from Father Duenas Memorial School, George Washington High School, John F. Kennedy High School, St. John’s School, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, Okkodo High School, Southern High School, and Simon Sanchez High School.

“I congratulate Roybert, his parents and his art instructor, Ron Canos on the selection of his artwork. I commend our aisland’s high school students and art instructors for their participation in this year’s Congressional Art Competition. I look forward to hosting him in Washington, D.C. and wish him the best of luck in the national competition,” said Bordallo. “Roybert’s artwork entitled ‘All in One Guam’ is a beautiful and thoughtful piece that showcases many historical landmarks throughout Guam. The artwork truly showcases the uniqueness of the island’s villages and I am proud to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol Complex.” (Office of the Delegate)
