Former Northern Mariana Islands Football Association technical director Johann Noetzel and MP United’s Enrico Del Rosario made it to the official roster of the Stallion Gilligan’s FC in the UFL Cup 2015 in the Philippines.

Noetzel is one of the goalkeepers for Stallion FC, while Del Rosario joins the club’s collection of defenders. Stallion FC is currently in second place in Group C of the 20-team UFL Cup, winning its debut against Mendiola FC, 4-1, before forcing a 1-1 draw against the Phil Younghusband-led Loyola. JP Voltes and University of Sto. Tomas complete the group.

“I’m very excited to have signed as player and goalkeeper coach here,” said Noetzel, who debuted for Stallion FC last May 3, holding Mendiola scoreless in the first half before giving up one goal in the second.

“It is a great team and coach Ernie (Nierras) and team president Filbert (Alquiros) are doing a lot of great things to build professional football and youth development here in the Philippines. They have had success as a club and I’m looking forward to helping bring another championship to the team. They have put together a great team with real quality from front to back,” Noetzel said.

Nierres, who led the Stallion FC to the UFL Cup championship in 2012 and the UFL Division 1 title in 2013, said Noetzel is a great addition to the team.

“We expect him to improve the quality of our goalkeepers, as well contribute as an active goalkeeper himself. We will also start a goalkeeper academy with him,” Nierres said.

While Noetzel is already suiting up for Stallion FC, Del Rosario won’t be joining his new teammates until graduation later this month. After his brief stint with Stallion FC, Del Rosario will then head to the U.S. to play for Alderson Broaddus University in NCAA Division II.

“It’s a great opportunity to be able to train with some of the great players from the Philippines, like Azkals’ rightback Simone Rota. While there, I will do my best to learn as many technical and tactical skills as I can absorb to prepare myself for college soccer, the Mt. Carmel School senior said.
