Hellery E. Jacinto has always wanted to become a photographer since he was a child. He has successfully pursued that dream and is now Chelu Photos’ new main photographer.

The 38-year-old comes with a wealth of experience in the field. From shooting photos in his hometown in the Philippines to the streets of Qatar, Jacinto told Saipan Tribune that he finds great joy in capturing moments with his Nikon D700 camera.

“My favorite kinds of photos are wedding, food, and event photos,” he said. “I enjoy taking photos and capturing memories, so I decided to pursue this career as professional photographer.”

During his time on the islands, Jacinto hopes to explore the islands’ natural beauty and picturesque mountains to take landscape and portrait photos.

“Of course, I came here to earn a living as professional photographer at the same time giving quality and awesome photos to all clients,” he added.

Jacinto specializes in commercial, glamour, wedding, architectural and fashion photography.

The new main photographer joins three other photographers and two videographers in the business.

Jacinto urges island youth to pursue photography as a profession and reminds aspiring photographers that “you don’t need to buy expensive gear.”

“Remember, it’s not the camera that takes great pictures but the person behind it. Learn the functionality of your camera, do lots of trial and error, don’t be afraid to shoot, and most importantly, to have fun.”
