Kanoa Resort joins DPW’s adopt-a-highway program
Road signs that will be used for the highway stretch that Kanoa Resort adopted were presented at the Department of Public Works in San Jose yesterday.
Kanoa Resort general manager Wendi Herring and Human Resource manager Joe Ada met with Public Works Secretary James Ada as well as other members of the department to see the road signs that will be put up on the part of the highway that they are sponsoring.

Kanoa Resort is responsible for the road starting from the front of its hotel all the way to the Chalan Piao stoplights near Hopwood Junior High School.
“Our sincere appreciation to Kanoa Resort for being an adopt-a-highway member,” adopt-a-highway coordinator Jack Sablan said.
For Kanoa Resort GM Herring, it’s important to take part in the community.
“It’s in line with the Tan Holdings’ commitment to help the community. We want to make sure that we do our part to keep our island clean and beautiful,” Herring said.
Members of the program are expected to clean their part of the highway at least every quarter.
Kanoa Resort is the newest member of the adopt-a-highway program, bringing the members’ number to 19.
However, the two-year contracts of many members are going to expire soon.
“Most of [the members’] expiration dates are coming up. We’ll be giving them a call if they still want to remain and if they do, then we’ll be happy to renew their contracts,” Sablan said.
DPW also reminded the public that they are going to clean by the Shell gas station in the Puerto Rico area from 8am to 3pm tomorrow.
“We are asking motorists to be cautious when driving by that area,” he said.
