G-Ballers 24, Managaha 19

Managaha built a strong 8-2 lead in the second inning primarily from a trio of home runs by Emilio Santos Jr., Rusty Santos, and Harlan Reyes.

It maintained favor, 16-7, with another eight-run burst later in the fourth inning off a grand slam by Robert Lacanlale, an RBI base rip by Reyes, and some errors late in the frame.

It appeared to be a promising margin for Managaha until G-Ballers unleashed a 12-run attack in the top of the fifth off nine hits.

Starting at the top of their order a string of four hits to start the inning ended with a two-run homer by Jun Salalila.

An error and a hit kept things alive as Ray Borja bagged an RBI single before two errors brought in another couple of runs.

G-Ballers’ Julian Salalila also came away with an RBI base rip, while Jun Salalila hammered a two-RBI smash before Managaha could get out of dodge.

Managaha managed three runs in the bottom frame to lock it up at 19-all, but were held scoreless in the late innings.

The match went into a bonus frame and the G-Ballers moved around five runs off some costly errors, a pair of RBI singles by Jude Dickinson and Jun Salalila, and an RBI double by Borja. Still in search of its first win, Managaha puttered out in the final stand, letting another one slip through their fingers.

G-Ballers’ Jun Salalila, Borja, and Franz Decena all batted 4-for-5.

It remained a 6-2 count in favor of Six Pack for the next three innings until Gagu Eyez pulled out a five-run rally in the last inning of regulation off an early error and six hits with their backs against the wall.

Juan Tenorio, Noki Torres, Jack Sablan, and Swain Cangco all busted RBI base smashes.

Gagu Eyez’s Ulloa and Cangco batted 3-for-4 in the duel.

Berdax 11, Saipal 10

Berdax established a 5-3 advantage in the opening frame off four hits and some early jitters out in the field by their opponents.

An early run came home off an error, after which Dave Camacho left the yard for two runs. Three batters later, Jesse Tenorio cranked a two-RBI double. Saipal’s Eli Ilong hammered a three-run shot that broke the ice in the top of the inning.

Saipal got one run back in the second frame from Alonzo Besong and the count shifted to 6-5 moments later as both teams worked around a run in the third inning.

Saipal’s Leo Bobai scored Gloyd Martin with a double, while Berdax’s Ben Taisacan busted a solo shot to end the frame.

After a scoreless fourth, Saipal added a run off an error, but Berdax spurted ahead, 10-6, in the bottom frame from an RBI bass rip by Camacho and a three-run bomb by Taisacan.

Saipal pulled within a run in the sixth inning from an RBI single by Marino Hiroichi and a two-RBI smash by Clifton Silil, but came up a little short in the end as both teams held each other to just a run apiece in the final stand.

The Rookies left a runner at second base in the bottom half and Sakudi exploded with 11 more runs in the second inning off 10 hits.

Liz Lebria started it up after a pair of leadoff hits with a two-RBI single. Two hits later Janica Lizama drove in a run and an error after that Sillil bagged another RBI base knock.

With two outs still to go, Sakudi’s Eileen Babauta cranked out the team’s seventh hit of the inning, which was followed by a couple of errors that helped enable a sacrifice fly for Jul Jen and a pair from Gerry Dela Cruz and Lebria.

The Rookies were already deflated by the start of their second chance at the plate and ended up stranding another runner in scoring position.

Sakudi went on to add four runs off five hits, which put the mercy rule into effect in just the third frame. Sillil bagged an RBI single, while the other runs came off errors.

The Rookies managed only its third base runner of the game in the bottom portion. Notably, Sakudi out-hit the Rookies, 20-2.

X-clusive 13, Talu Fahn 3

Talu Fahn got started early and moved around all three of its runs in the very first inning primarily off errors.

X-clusive’s Vince Cepeda got one run back in the bottom frame with a sacrifice fly and teammate Fred Sato obliged with another sacrifice in the second inning.

Talu Fahn’s offense disappeared after the early spark, while X-clusive erupted in the third inning with nine runs off seven hits.

Talu Fahn’ pitcher Eric Cabrera walked four of the first five batters, which set up an RBI single by McQueen Masaharu and a grand slam by J.J. Cabrera.

The team then reloaded the bases for a three-RBI triple by John Reyes. He was sacrificed home by Dennis Ngeskebei, while Cepeda capped off the onslaught with a solo blast.

Talu Fahn left a man stranded at third base in the top of the fourth and were stuffed yet again with runners at first and second in the final stand.
