More cash prizes are at stake for the lucky winners in the Las Vegas Night, Rotary Club of Saipan’s annual fundraising event slated for July 14, from 7pm to midnight, at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Ballroom.

Rotary secretary Laila Y. Boyer said yesterday that ticket holders will have a chance to win $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, and $500. The grand prize, Boyer said, is a choice between $10,000 or a brand new 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS.

Tickets to the Las Vegas Night cost $5 each or $20 per booklet. This year, Rotary decided to give more incentives to ticket buyers by having six tickets per booklet, said Boyer.

There will also be other exciting games and activities like Best in Costume, in relation to this year’s theme, Stars and Stripes.

“We’re really going to have a lot of fun for the Las Vegas Night,” said Boyer, adding that the event is scheduled on the week of government payday.

Boyer disclosed that they are now awaiting their Las Vegas Night permit and she recognized Rotarians Yosh Gabaldon and Glen Perez for putting in order the paperwork.

The Rotary is also on the lookout for more volunteers to serve as dealers and cashiers at the event.

With the tickets to be distributed within the week, Rotarians will have a little over a month to sell them. “We need to really push for sales,” Boyer said.

Proceeds from this year’s Las Vegas Night are earmarked for Rotary’s Kagman children’s park project.
