»Independent audit firm to verify Liberation Day raffle ticket count
Celebrating peace and diversity for 70 years, the 2015 Liberation Day Committee kicks off its official search for the Liberation Day Royal Court today and calls on the community’s eligible young women to help make the islands’ largest event a success.
Applications are now available at the Saipan Mayor’s Office or email liberationcnmi@gmail.com. Deadline to apply is on Friday, May 15, 2015.
“We are very excited to offer this opportunity to our young women—this is an historic event that has great support locally and internationally and we encourage all those interested to apply,” said Saipan Mayor David Apatang.
An international event planning firm, Skywalker Communications Group, is leading this year’s festivities with a lineup of fun activities geared up for the 2015 Liberation Royal Court.
Community involvement will be the guiding principle in organizing the 2015 Liberation Day Royal Court and other main activities.
Young females from the ages of 16 to 25 years old are encouraged to join and represent their village, family, company, or organization.
The 2015 Liberation Day Royal Court contestant must be between 16 and 25 years old, female, not married, has no children, a CNMI resident for at least six months and of good moral and ethical character.
Each candidate may have individual sponsors to assist with the costs of competing and each candidate will have the ability to sell Liberation Day raffle tickets to raise funds and host other various approved fundraisers.
Ten percent of each of the candidates’ total fundraising proceeds will go to the respective candidate.
This year, one of the region’s leading independent auditing firms lends its expertise to the 2015 Liberation Day Committee with the verification and counting of the official Liberation Day raffle tickets.
Burger Comer Magliari LLC has close to 30 years in audit and tax services and provides services on Saipan, in Guam, Palau and California.
“We do more than 100 annual audits and reviews, and about 1,000 income tax returns every year. The firm has a total of 24 people whose knowledge and expertise offer our clients quality auditing services,” said managing partner David Burger.
Burger, a certified public accountant, is also a Registered Investment Advisor in the CNMI and Guam.
James Comer and J. Scott Magliari, also certified public accountants, are the firm’s other managing partners and have extensive public accounting experience.
“Volunteering our services for the 2015 Liberation Day Royal Court competition is a great way for us to give back to our community for the islands’ largest celebration,” said Burger.
Apatang notes that BCM’s generous assistance ensures that this year’s Liberation Day raffle ticket counting will be done in a fair, efficient, and transparent manner.
“With the integrity and expertise of BCM, LLC, the public could trust that the process in distributing, counting and verifying the results of the 2015 Liberation Day Royal Court competition will be in very good hands,” he said.
The 2015 Liberation Day Committee is preparing the official raffle tickets that will be released by the second week of May, along with the deadline for contestants to sign up for the 2015 Liberation Day Royal Court competition.
The Liberation Day Royal Court titleholders are determined by the amount of money each candidate raises through the sale of raffle tickets.
