“The decade-long partnership with McDonald’s made it easier for us to discover new talents. Our sponsors are the backbone of our events. We can’t organize our events without our partners like McDonald’s,” he added.

Jeremy Winkfield, Tyrone Omar, twins Yvette and Yvonne Bennett, Champ Untalan, Matt Mancao, Rachel Abrams, and Seiya Eda are some of the CNMI athletes that were discovered in the All Schools Championship.

Tebuteb and NMA secretary general Robin Sapong were present to receive the $3,000 check that was donated by McDonald’s Saipan owner/general manager Marcia Ayuyu, who was accompanied by shift manager Joe Ayuyu Jr. and department manager Manny Corpuz.

The money will be used for the 12th Annual Public School System/McDonald’s All Schools Athletics Championship set from May 14 to 16. NMA is currently holding the qualifying events for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Tebuteb, who is also one of six lawmakers representing Precinct III in the CNMI Legislature, added that contributions by companies such as McDonald’s help them defray the cost of organizing their events.

Joe Ayuyu Jr. said sports is the other thing that is close to their hearts aside from various community events. McDonald’s also supports the Saipan Little League where they have a team in the Majors division.

“McDonald’s has been passionate in giving to the community. We want the kids to learn to play and exercise. Get them involve and have a healthier lifestyle. Exercise gives you balance in life,” said Ayuyu Jr.

Marcia added that she has been happy for the many years of their partnership with the NMA. “I wish all the kids good luck and I’m calling all parents and everyone to come out and support these kids.”

“Helping the NMA is our way of thanking the community for their continuous patronage and our way of giving back. I’ll be also coming out to cheer for everyone.”
