Inos flies to Manila for regular checkup
Gov. Eloy S. Inos flew to the Philippines on Saturday to visit a Manila hospital for a regular check-up.
In a statement, the governor said he will be going off-island “for a medical check-up as recommended by my doctor.”
“This check-up is a standard and routine follow-up on procedures I had done more than six months ago and is completely non-invasive,” Inos said.
He also said he fully expects to return quickly to work with Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres to work on pressing issues with the CNMI economy and proposed military expansion.
But Inos is not expected to be able to attend a scheduled public hearing on the draft environmental impact statement on proposed military exercises scheduled this week.
According to press secretary Ivan Blanco, there is no date yet as to when the governor will be back from his Manila trip. Blanco also said he has no information on the specific hospital that the governor will go to.
He said the governor traveled with family members over the weekend.
It is widely expected that the governor will go back at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center where he was previously treated.
“In looking back to the first 100 days of this administration, Ralph and I are pleased to share that much has been accomplished during this short time, and much still needs to be accomplished,” Inos further said in the statement.
