Tan Holdings, KHS team up for 2015 MMAC
Team Tan Holdings/Kagman High School will be joining the 2015 Marianas March Against Cancer, the signature event of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.
The team’s captains are Glicerio “Eli” Arago and Eric Magofna and the combined team will be involved in their 10th year with the MMAC.
“We formed our team because we wanted to incorporate more spirit and energy into the event and invited KHS,” Arago said.
Team Tan Holdings/KHS plans to have additional activities and raise more funds for MMAC than previous years.
Arago’s word of advice to the public when considering forming a team is that “when you partner with a team, you form a support group to achieve a goal.”
Tan Holdings also holds an annual walk, which helps support the 2015 MMAC. Arago said the JP and Cancer Alertness Walk was a success again this year, raising more than $5,000 for the MMAC.
“The money that we collected are mostly from the employees’ pledges. They collected the amount from their friends, relatives, and family members,” he said.
More than 200 walkers showed up for the Saturday event supporting the JP and Cancer Alertness Walk.
“Thanks for all the help from the employees and their hard work in soliciting the funds raise. It’s not that big but with the support of the whole company it was successful. We worked on the walk for three weeks and saw a good number and hopefully next year we can raise more and have more walkers,” Arago said.
The 2015 MMAC will be held at the Hopwood Junior High School field from May 1 to 2.
