Blue Haus crushes Graphics/Star 6
Blue Haus is still flawless in the Masters division of the 2015 United Filipino Organization Basketball League following an 84-48 thrashing of Graphics/Star 6 BBQ last Saturday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Blue Haus notched its third win in as many games to remain on top of the team standings in the six-squad field, while Graphics/Star 6 is at the cellar with its 0-6 record.
Edsel Mendoza top-scored in Blue Haus’ lopsided win, firing 23 points. He led Blue Haus’ breakaway in the third period, posting 10 of his total points in that canto to lift his team to a commanding 68-38 advantage. Mendoza and company exploded for 30 points in the third quarter, 2 more than Graphics/Star 6’s total output in the first two periods to pull away further, as the losing squad were held to 10 points in the pivotal frame.
Graphics/Star 6, which was still in the game at halftime facing a manageable 10-point deficit, 28-38, made only four field goals in the third canto and had no player scoring more than one field goal in that meltdown.
Graphics/Star 6’s lackluster offense continued in the fourth quarter, as it was limited to another 10-point production, allowing Blue Haus to keep the big winning margin. Blue Haus slowed down in the final frame with the win already in the bag, but still outgunned Graphics/Star 6, 18-10.
Ernie Moises backed up Mendoza with his 16 points, while Junar Guiab also finished in twin digits with his 15 markers. All but one of the remaining Blue Haus scorers chipped in at least 4 points each to hand Graphics/Star 6 its third straight loss.
Ariel Abadilla was the lone double figure scorer for Graphics/Star 6, logging 12.
