According to a letter from the conference’s vice president, Jan A. Sikorsky, Ph.D., Versoza was selected through the program’s academic partnership with Loras College.

“We will provide Mark with firsthand experiences with professionals in the engineering and technology fields, beyond what he can learn in the classroom, so that he is better equipped to make informed decision with regards to choosing the right university, college major and career specialty,” she wrote.

By attending the conference, he will also receive college credit from Loras College. Versoza also received a small financial aid package to shoulder the cost of the forum.

“I consider being accepted into the youth leadership conference a blessing. I look forward to meeting new people and making new experiences,” he told Saipan Tribune. “… I am thankful my family was able to pay the remaining amount.”

The program is hosted at several prestigious universities in the nation every summer covering a wide range of subjects. The UC Berkeley summer program will focus on gamification, multiday simulation focusing on coding, and as well as explore technologies shaping the future.
