FHB promotes Valdez, Fernandez

HAGÅTÑA, Guam—First Hawaiian Bank chairman, president, and chief executive officer Bob Harrison announced yesterday the promotion of two bank officers to vice president.

Peter Valdez has been promoted from vice president and business banking officer to vice president and team leader at the Maite Banking Center. Valdez oversees a team of business bankers to grow the bank’s commercial lending portfolio in Guam. He has over 20 years of banking industry experience and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2001 as a business banking officer.

Penny Fernandez has been promoted from assistant vice president, Merchant Services Department, to vice president and merchant supervisor, Guam and CNMI Region. Fernandez is responsible for merchant services, processing of merchant applications, program terminals, installation of terminals and providing customer support to merchants in Guam and on Saipan. She has over 25 years of banking industry experience and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1998 as a merchant services representative.

First Hawaiian Bank (fhb.com) with assets of $18.1 billion was founded in 1858 and is Hawaii’s oldest and largest bank. The bank operates 57 branches in Hawaii, three in Guam, and two on Saipan. (FHB)
