Bayani to host gay pageant called ‘Queen of the World’
The Bayani Association will be celebrating its 14th anniversary on July 8, 2015. As part of the celebration, the group will be hosting a Queen of the World gay pageant. Candidates must be 21 years old and above and Filipino citizens. The group is looking for at least 12 candidates for the pageant on a first-come, first-served basis. They will be competing in the following categories: national costume, talent competition, evening gown competition, and a question-and-answer portion. Prizes are $600, $500, $400, $300, and $200 respectively. There will also be special awards with cash prizes for Ms. Photogenic, Best in National Costume, Ms. Congeniality, Best in Talent, Best in Evening Gown, and Best in Lingerie. The pageant will take place on July 18, 2015, at the Saipan World Resort.
This is one of the Bayani Association’s fundraising event, as it will help them finance the different costumes that they will use for the upcoming International Festival of Cultures. The Bayani Association was one of the participants of the festival last year.
Bayani president Mario Mayuga said he is grateful to IT&E general manager Rose Soledad for giving her vote of confidence in the group to handle this event.
The deadline for the application will be on May 9, 2015, Saturday, then the general meeting for all candidates will be on May 16, 2015. The venue and time will be announced later.
