Man in gas card theft pleads guilty
James Anthony Webb, a 24-year-old ex-convict who stole a gas credit card belonging to a radio station and used it to buy $94.21 worth of gas and other items, pleaded guilty on Friday and was sentenced to a year in prison.
Webb pleaded guilty to theft as part of a plea deal.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho sentenced Webb to the maximum of one year in prison, with the first two months to be served without the possibility of parole.
Webb was given credit for 69 days. The remainder of his sentence may be imposed in whole or in part for violation of law or Office of the Adult Probation rules. This means Webb is now out of prison.
Webb was placed on supervised probation for three years. He was required to pay a $300 fine, court costs, and probation fees. He was ordered to perform 300 hours of community service and pay $94.21 in restitution to the Shell Highway Express in Gualo Rai.
Webb agreed to cooperate in an ongoing police investigation of a burglary case, including testifying in any court proceedings.
The government agreed not to use his guilty plea in this case as a basis for revocation of probation in his previous criminal conviction.
According to the factual basis of the plea deal, on Jan. 31, 2014 on Saipan, Webb stole the credit card of the KZNM/KCMI radio station and purchased gas and other items in the amount of $94.21 at Shell Highway Express in Gualo Rai.
