Route 33 Alamo jumps on top of Thursday League
Route 33 Alamo Car Rental and the Abyss Titans defeated their respective opponents but the former scored the most number of wins to grab the top spot after Week 8 in the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association Open 8-Ball Thursday League.
Route 33 Alamo drubbed the Barcode Breakers, 13-2, while the Titans scored a 9-6 decision over Jonny’s Team SCS. Route 33 now has a 70-50 card to enjoy a two-win lead over the Titans’ 68-52 record.
Roman Rodriguez, Boyet Sequico, Ruben Santos, and Manny Mariano won 10 of their 12 matches against the Breakers. Their two losses are in both the final games of the Singles 8-Ball events as they only had fielded four players.
Wild Bill’s are in third at 66-54 following a 9-6 triumph against the Abyss Rack ‘N’ Roll, while the Jokers Homeboyz and the latter are closely behind at 64-56 and 63-57. The Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball are at sixth with a 62-58 slate.
The Homeboyz and the Barcode Hobbies Deadshot escaped with similar 8-7 wins over the Jokers Wonderpool Aces and the Magic 8 Ball, respectively.
In the Tuesday League, the Smoke Pub Armatech Hustlers drubbed the Jokers Str8 Shooters, 12-3, to remain on top of the standings with a 75-45 record.
The Jokers IT&E Voyagers failed to gain some ground after dropping an 8-7 defeat to the Smoke Ali’I Destroyers. The Voyagers are in second with a 68-52 mark.
The Abyss Crazy8 also completed an 8-7 decision against sister team Homeboyz II in the other game.
Week 9 continues tonight in the Tuesday League, while the Thursday League resumes its matches on April 2 in various bars on the island.
